Bensenville approves $654,238 phase 2 design for Green Street reconstruction

The board approved a phase 2 design engineering agreement with CivilTech Engineering (Itasca) for the Green Street reconstruction project at a cost of $654,238.35. Staff said the village received $2,140,000 in Surface Transportation Program (STP) funds toward a current construction estimate of $5.8 million, covering about 80% of the roadway components; water main and sanitary sewer work remain locally funded.
Staff described that roughly $300,000 of the phase 2 fee is for design services and that $355,000 of the agreement is included as potential land-acquisition funding (permanent or temporary easements) needed to meet federal project requirements. The board approved the resolution by roll call.
