The Local Tax Oversight Board voted on May 15 to instruct the finance director to revise its draft rules of procedure to correct clerical references to the Board of Library Trustees and to delete an unintended subsection, then return a clean version for adoption.
"Based on the suggested changes, particularly as you relate to the Venetia Library of Trustees, I would suggest or I'd make a motion to accept the rules of order," said a board member during the discussion, moving the direction that staff implement the corrections. Staff and board members debated whether to "adopt as amended" today or to direct staff to make the edits and bring back a clean, reviewed document; the board opted to direct staff to revise and return the item for final adoption.
The board discussed three specific corrections in section E (the first-sentence reference, E1 and E2d) and removal of a stray E2e placeholder. The finance director and city attorney had reviewed the draft; staff said changes requested by the board would require the item to come back for final adoption. The chair recorded that the motion passed and staff will present the revised rules at a future meeting.
