Loma Prieta honors departing facilities director Paul Harvill

The Loma Prieta Joint Union School District board honored Paul Harvill on his final meeting before he joins a neighboring district, recognizing his work from 2016 through his promotion to director of facilities and maintenance in 2018.
Trustee (Speaker 2) introduced Harvill as “our facilities expert,” noting he began with the district as an assistant director and was promoted to director in 2018. Colleagues credited him with projects finished under budget and innovations that kept work moving. “He's always overdelivered a project, and he's always done it under budget,” the trustee said, adding that Harvill had taken a position at Cambrian and would start there mid‑March.
Multiple board members and staff offered personal tributes. Chair (Speaker 6) said Harvill combined meticulous attention to detail with flexibility, and another trustee praised his preparedness during board presentations. Harvill himself described his mixed feelings and appreciation for the district's work on projects including water treatment and testing; he told the board he was proud to have contributed to the community.
Board members presented a certificate and a small trophy recognizing Harvill's service. The board noted several ongoing facilities efforts that Harvill led — including North Campus bidding and documentation supplied to the Division of the State Architect (DSA) for a drinking well project — and said staff would follow up on those projects after his departure.
