Lower Paxton leaders mourn PFC Doug Fisher, who died while on military orders

The board paused to mourn the death of Patrolman First Class Doug Fisher, who died after suffering a medical emergency while on military orders with the U.S. Army Reserve in South Carolina. Director Kashiba described Fisher as ‘‘a dedicated individual’’ who joined the department in 2004 and had a long record of service to the township and the nation.
Kashiba asked residents to keep Fisher’s family and fellow officers in their thoughts and requested a moment of silence. Board members offered condolences and reiterated the department’s loss; the chair asked the public to join in hopes for the timely return of his remains to the Harrisburg area.
