Travis Cherry, the Health Care Authority’s chief information officer, gave a status report on the Benefits 24/7 modernization work, focusing on the sync file, API development and the migration off Secure Access Washington. He said staff have identified 71 bugs in the synchronization file analysis, with 29 fixes recorded for April and six additional fixes in May, and that the technical team is evaluating primary versus cascading defects.
Cherry said the team is prioritizing primary issues and expects many secondary problems to be resolved once the foundational sync file issues are corrected; he told the board a mid‑July management presentation will include a completed analysis and additional resolution counts. He also described API work with the University of Washington and Washington State University and said staff are coordinating vendor migration of authentication to wah.gov with WATEC and the affected vendors.
