The board reviewed a finance update that included a revised allocation in the furnishings and fixtures line of the general fund and an approved order for replacements.
"So we'll be getting 7 new chairs," the library director said, noting most items have been ordered and the finance department allowed the library to place orders and roll funds into next year if needed as long as orders are placed and approved before the fiscal year ends.
The director said the library is still awaiting a final quote for lighting upgrades and that staff found a lower-cost supplier in Fairfield after initially collecting a quote from a company in Connecticut. Members were told the finance department has permitted flexibility on invoicing timing to allow purchases to proceed before June 30.
No formal budget amendment was presented for board action at the meeting; the director indicated staff will report back next month once items arrive or additional quotes are finalized.
