University of Memphis presents dual-enrollment public-health pathway, national recognition

He said the university "was able to secure funding from CDC about $200,000" to support a model that allows high-school students to earn credits and obtain an undergraduate certificate beginning in fall 2025.
Joshi described a student-centered curriculum, a nearly 20% increase in enrollment, a research portfolio that grew from about $1.8 million to roughly $27 million since his arrival, and a $500,000 scholarship pool to support students. He urged stronger ties between public-health education and community partners to produce workforce-ready graduates who can help address root causes of crime and health disparities.
