Board approves retirements, hires, leaves and calendar for 2026–27

The NICE Community School District Board approved a series of personnel actions at its Feb. 16 meeting. On motions by Kathleen Carlson and Jim Gray (various seconds recorded), the board acknowledged the retirement letter from Betsy Grugin, granted maternity leave to Kathryn Hamel, hired Billie Jo Krask as an LRE aide, acknowledged the resignation of Jennie Opperman, hired Annie Skewis as girls varsity track coach, and acknowledged the resignation of Kirsten Wester.
Trustees also approved next year’s school calendar as presented. Each action carried on motions recorded in the minutes as "Motion carried." The personnel approvals are effective as described in the board minutes; the minutes do not include individual vote roll calls.
