A chief explained the action is "house cleaning" to formalize existing practices and to comply with requirements stemming from House Bill 33, often referred to as the "Uvalde Strong Act."
The chief said the agreement does not change the services first responders provide but documents responsibilities in a memorandum of understanding. The council moved, seconded and approved the resolution without further amendment.
