Council approves five-year park rental with youth football program
Summary
The council approved a five-year renewal allowing Ute Conference Incorporated youth football continued use of Midvale City Park through April 30, 2030; the city will receive $5 per youth participant and the program must maintain insurance.
City Manager Matt Dahl presented a proposed five-year rental agreement extending Midvale’s existing arrangement with the Ute Conference Incorporated Youth Football Program through April 30, 2030. The agreement allows continued use of designated areas in Midvale City Park, includes a provision giving the city flexibility to adjust the rented area with four weeks’ notice and requires the Conference to carry insurance.
Dahl noted the city will continue to receive "$5.00 per youth participant" from the Conference and described the financial impact as negligible. Council Member Bonnie Billings moved and Council Member Bryant Brown seconded a motion to suspend the rules and approve Resolution No. 2025-R-22; roll call recorded four ayes, one absent and the resolution passed among those present.
