Board approves new hires, accepts science teacher resignation

The Los Molinos Unified School District Board approved employment actions on March 20, 2025. The board approved hiring Mariana Rios as an LMHS science teacher; Daniel Gilbert as an LMHS physical education teacher; and Kristina Zarate as Los Molinos Elementary principal. The motions were moved and seconded and carried 7-0.
The board also accepted the resignation of LMHS science teacher Ivy Mendez; that motion carried 7-0. The minutes list the names and positions but do not include hire start dates, salary or reasons for the resignation.
Board members approved these personnel items during the action-items portion of the agenda; no closed-session personnel discussion is recorded in the minutes.
