Council approves hazard-mitigation participation, transportation plan grant and drinking water application; building permit tabled

The council approved several administrative items and grant-related actions during the meeting. Will Butler moved, and Josephine Prophet seconded, to approve a Letter of Intent to participate in the 2025 Kootenai County Multi-Jurisdictional All Hazard Mitigation Plan; the council voted unanimous approval.
The council also approved a Transportation Plan Grant to update the city’s existing Transportation Plan (motion by Will Butler; second by Joe Cornell), and approved a Drinking Water Emerging Contaminants Application after a motion by Joe Cornell and second by John Gray. Both motions passed unanimously. Separately, the council voted to table the Harrison building permit application after a motion by Joe Cornell and a second from Charlie Shutt.
These approvals allow Harrison to participate in regional mitigation planning and pursue funding to update its transportation plan and to address emerging contaminants in drinking water; the building permit will be reconsidered at a later meeting.
