Council considered whether to keep a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) item on the agenda after Mayor Wanda Irish relayed information from HMH Engineering that LHTAC would delay the project start date.
Mayor Irish told the council she had spoken with a staff member at HMH and reported that "LHTAC will not let us start the project until 2027" and she would like to take it off the agenda. Councilmember Charlie Shutt said he had contacted LHTAC and that a representative is scheduled to visit Harrison in May, offering an opportunity to arrange a workshop to discuss next steps.
The council did not record a formal vote on removing the TAP item during the meeting; members discussed the scheduling implications and the possibility of local engagement when an LHTAC representative visits in May.
