The resolution was introduced by Council member Miss Stern and seconded by Council member Miss Taylor; the council first voted to suspend the rules and then voted to adopt the resolution.
Council member Miss Kirk urged that the return of city‑organized senior trips is welcome, noting the program had not run since before the COVID‑19 pandemic. "We have not had a trip since before COVID... Not only is this 1 sold out, we have a wait list for people who want to attend," Miss Kirk said, adding hope that the city may resume multiple annual trips if demand continues. The vote on the resolution was recorded as unanimous in favor.
