Schools report testing, arts, sports updates; WHS celebrates successful prom

Building and program reports on April 20 covered student testing, extracurricular activities, arts partnerships and athletics across the district. Chris Marana (ARES) reported state and local testing, summer school registration, a fifth-grade trip to the Marquette Symphony Orchestra and a children’s art exhibit at Northern Michigan University. Griffin Lawson (ARMS) reported state and local testing, 8th grade PSAT administration, the upcoming talent show and final preparations for 6th- and 8th-grade trips.
Cliff Fossitt (WHS) said the high school held a successful prom and thanked those involved; he also mentioned the Excellence in Education luncheon, state testing, a Mobile Secretary of State visit and graduation planning. Athletics director Bobby Zhulkie said spring sports were delayed by weather and that "both the girls and boys basketball teams earned academic all-state honors," noted an updated Hudl package with a third camera at the Aspen Ridge competition gym and that the athletic calendar is pinned to the NICE Facebook page.
