On Jan. 19 the NICE Board voted to enter closed session under Section 8(c) of the Michigan Open Meetings Act for negotiation purposes related to the 27L line item. The meeting entered closed session at 5:55 p.m. and returned to open session at 6:07 p.m.
Following the closed session the board voted to authorize the superintendent to negotiate and enter into a Letter of Agreement with both bargaining units to disburse the district’s 27L funds in conjunction with General Fund expenditures "as presented." The roll-call vote on the authorization recorded four ayes (Kathleen Carlson, Jim Gray, John Grove, Scott Mann) and one abstention (Chad Korpi); the motion carried. The minutes record the motions and the roll-call tallies but do not include the terms of the Letter of Agreement.
