Committee staff described how teacher teams will unpack standards, identify skill progressions and vertical alignments, and use Professional Learning Community (PLC) time to align units and assessments. The staff presenter said PLCs and early-release days will give teachers time to collaborate on unit planning and assessment alignment.
Staff also said the district plans a public-facing dashboard that will list, by subject and grade, the selected essential standards and associated curricular resources, with the goal of helping families and teachers know "what we're trying to get" students to learn. The committee supported the transparency goal and encouraged staff to include benchmarks and example assessment items to help parents understand expectations.
