District staff to collect time data to make stipend pay more equitable

Stacy told the committee the district will collect information on time commitments for extracurricular work (practices, rehearsals, games) so future stipend decisions are evidence-based. "I'm a baseball coach. I have approximately 35 practices that last 2.5 hours a piece, and I have 17 games that last 2.5 hours a piece," Stacy said to illustrate the kind of out-of-school-hour commitment staff will document.
Stacy said the district will also compare its stipends with conference districts and look at numbers of paid coaches relative to participant counts. Staff aim to return a revised stipend recommendation informed by that data within about a year.
