Public Services Operations Manager Cory Gonyea presented the staff report for the annual weed-abatement program covering parcels under one acre. Gonyea told the council that since the last meeting six properties were identified as noncompliant, two became compliant and four remained noncompliant. Councilmember Kelly moved the recommended action, the mayor seconded, and the council voted unanimously to instruct staff to proceed with abatement (Mayor Pro Tem Bucknam absent).
Gonyea said staff will continue working with property owners and follow the Government Code process to bring properties into compliance.
