Town seeks short-term help for school pickup congestion while exploring longer-term solutions

Town Manager Ryan said he asked Deputy Held to be present several times weekly to help direct pickup lanes and keep children from moving between vehicles while the town pursues a sidewalk study grant and considers options such as staggered release times.
Use of nearby Unifirst property to relieve congestion was discussed but tabled because of property-related issues. The board asked staff to continue exploring options with school officials and noted the importance of keeping children out of traffic.
