DeSoto County EMS to buy inventory software and certify six Red Cross trainers

Emergency Medical Services Director Mark Davis told supervisors the county will digitize supply inventories and receive vendor pricing through a new system. "The cost for this program is $3,663.00 annually," Davis said, and the Board authorized the purchase and for IT to assist with installation.
Davis also said the county had been approached by the American Red Cross to become a training center; the county must certify six trainers to qualify. "The cost is $1,000.00 per person to become certified to be a trainer," he said, and the Board approved funding for the six certifications so the newly certified staff can provide initial and annual renewal training to county EMS personnel.
