District Attorney requests Microsoft 365 migration, storage funds and more paralegals

District Attorney Steve Mulroy highlighted declines in crime and then outlined several infrastructure and staffing requests for the D.A.'s office. He said the office needs to migrate to Microsoft 365 (state will cover transition and state employee licenses; county assistance requested for county licenses), and he asked for a transitional $37,500 for off-site storage to handle increased evidence and records.
Mulroy also sought funds to finish disparity-parity work between county and state-funded employees, requesting county support for the privilege tax and a travel/training budget for county prosecutors. He said the office would like additional paralegals to better staff vertical trial teams and asked for two more video technical analysts to compile and edit body-cam and other footage for trial presentation. "Our operating system is 12 to 15 years old," Mulroy said, arguing upgrades are necessary to keep pace with case demands.
Jessica Indangaro, the DA's CAO, described earlier paralegal additions (six implemented of an eight-position request) and explained some hiring/implementation timing constraints; she and Mulroy said they would provide more precise job descriptions and salary ranges to the commission.
