The Silver Creek Township Board approved several maintenance-related proposals during its Feb. 18 meeting. Vice Chair Brandon Geyen moved to accept Schmitz Excavating's proposal of equipment rates; Supervisor Ryan Nelson seconded the motion and it carried with Supervisor Andy Christensen recorded as abstaining (3-0).
The board discussed a KRIS Engineering quote for plow edges and decided not to order extras at this time. The trustees voted to accept Bjorklund Companies' gravel hauling quote and Central MN Dust Controls' estimate for dust control; both motions were made by Geyen, seconded by Nelson, and carried 4-0. A proposal from Moore Engineering was postponed until the next meeting. Chairman Mike Helman moved to approve up to $150 for the maintenance meeting (second: Geyen); that motion carried 4-0.
Board members recorded no additional conditions on the accepted quotes; Moore Engineering's item will return for further consideration at a future meeting.
