Anne Skelton invites public to Marine Resources science conference in Long Beach

"My name is Anne Skelton, and I'm here just to invite you all to our annual science conference," she said, and described the meeting as an opportunity to "discover and to talk about science that's going on in our communities."
Skelton gave program and logistics details: doors open at 8:30 a.m. with coffee and donuts, the program starts at 9 a.m., there will be a free lunch and a seafood dinner at about 4:30 p.m., and attendees are asked to register at mrc.pacificcd.org so organizers can plan for food. She listed planned items including port updates, a report from the Chinook Heart Hatchery, a "salmon in the classroom" school project, and a tsunami presentation by Brian Atwater of Oregon State. The mayor and council thanked Skelton and said they would share the invitation with others.
