Manager says EPA program offered free assistance on wastewater access and communications

The district’s general manager reported that EPA representatives presented a program called Closing America's Wastewater Access Gap Initiative and that the EPA offered pro bono assistance with alternatives, communications and some help on funding applications.
The manager said the program could review the district’s work and suggest options without charging the district, and staff will continue to coordinate with EPA. “It appears that it's a free program that they can, kind of make sure that they they helped us consider, you know, different alternatives. They can help us with communications,” the manager said, adding that staff would return to the board if EPA’s assistance required district funding or staff time beyond what the EPA could provide.
Board members suggested involving an appropriate subcommittee to coordinate with EPA and asked staff to bring any requests for funding back to the board for approval.
