The city will implement a traffic revision beginning Wednesday, June 3, to relocate the food bank's staging area from a school parking lot to Water Street, Chief Stegall told the council. The change is intended to reduce cars lining the shoulder of Broadway and avoid blocking neighborhood driveways.
"That's gonna start on Wednesday next Wednesday, June 3," Chief Stegall said during the department head report. He said the school needs its parking lot returned because of construction, that transit operations and Raymond Fire have been notified, and that the food bank has been handing out flyers to regular clients for two weeks to ease the transition.
Staff said they'll monitor the arrangement and revisit the plan if the school reclaims the area after construction. The council did not record any objections on the public record during the department head presentation.
