Pharr showcases youth theater and will host statewide youth games

A parks official described rehearsals and the growth seen among participating children. “This show is about people revolting and standing up for what's right because they're not getting paid fairly,” one youth performer said of her role, while staff praised directors and community support.
Staff also reported that the City hosted the TAF Regional Meet (tennis, swim and track) July 16–17 and cited nearly 4,500 combined registrations across swim and track. Pharr officials said athletes from the region qualify for state competition in College Station and that Pharr will host the Games of Texas in 2027 and 2028. City staff framed the hosting role as an opportunity to showcase local facilities and encourage youth athletics.
