Director outlines strategic-plan meeting, grant work and donations

At the Aug. 3 meeting Library Director Alice Freiler told the board a strategic-plan update session is scheduled for Aug. 26 at 6:00 p.m. at the Harwinton Public Library. She reported that the library budget was well spent and that $1,059.45 was returned to the town's account.
Freiler said she will apply to Thomaston Savings Bank for funds to buy PlayAway Launchpads and that a grant for a new HVAC system is underway; she asked for HVAC cost estimates for a grant deadline at the end of August. She reported a $3,000 donation from the Beck Family earmarked for large-print books and said Thomaston Savings Bank would contribute $2,000 toward the same purpose.
