Council presses staff for audit timeline and minutes clarification; public works facility update given

At the Sept. 9 meeting Councilman Wayne Winsor repeated his request for a timeline on the city's financial audit and asked why meeting minutes are not placed on the following meeting's agenda for approval.
Finance Director Brett Baltazar said he had contacted the city's auditor after the previous council meeting. City Manager David Larson said he was aware of a requirement that minutes be posted within 72 hours after they are approved but that he was not familiar with a specific law requiring approval at the following meeting; he said he would investigate and report back.
Separately, Mayor Rod Westbroek updated the council that the Public Works Facility has been painted and Mr. Larson said city staff had reviewed the landscaping plans for the site. These items were presented as operational updates rather than decisions requiring formal council action.
