Willard City canvass certifies Nov. 4 election; Travis Mote declared mayor

The Willard City Board of Canvass met at Willard City Hall on Nov. 18 and officially certified the results of the Nov. 4, 2025 municipal general election, declaring Travis Earle Mote the winner in the mayoral race.
Deputy Recorder and election official Michelle Drago conducted the canvass and announced the official vote totals: "Travis Earle Mote 445 votes" for mayor; for two city council seats, Michael Wayne Braegger received 379 votes, Rodney Bryce Mund 375 votes and Alex E. Dubovik 201 votes. Drago said a total of 521 ballots were cast in the municipal election.
Drago told the board that five by-mail ballots were received after the Nov. 4, 2025 8:00 p.m. deadline and "were not counted." She said those five uncounted ballots were sealed in an envelope and filed with the 2025 municipal general election results.
Council member Jacob Bodily moved to accept the results as submitted by the Box Elder County Clerk-Election Official; the motion was seconded by Council member Michael Braegger. "All voted in favor," and the motion passed unanimously. The board then adjourned at 6:07 p.m.
The certification was prepared and signed by the canvassing officials during the Nov. 18 meeting, as required under Utah Code Unannotated 20A-4-304.
