Waynesville Council Adopts Emergency Resolution Certifying Tax Levies to County Auditor

On Sept. 16 the Village Council waived the two‑reading rule and adopted Resolution No. 2024-034, "Resolution Accepting the Amounts and Rates as Determined by the Budget Commission and Authorizing the Necessary Tax Levies and Certifying them to the County Auditor and Declaring an Emergency." The motions to waive and to adopt were approved on roll call with 6 yeas.
Finance Director Jamie Morley told council that she modeled the current resolution on sample documents provided by the Warren County Auditor after finding the village’s older forms were outdated. Mr. Colvin asked about the format difference from prior years; Ms. Morley said "Ms. Crockett used a form that was at least 30 years old and she was not sure where she kept them." The resolution gives village officials authority to certify the levies to the county auditor; no levy amounts were detailed in the meeting minutes.
