Trustees unanimously approved a set of MOUs and contracts and ratified labor agreements at the Aug. 5 meeting.
The board approved an MOU with PALS Incorporated to identify a potential temporary emergency relocation site at Arroyo High School; staff clarified the MOU does not grant unrestricted access and requires administrative approval before the site can be used. Trustees also approved an MOU with New Beginning Community Ministries for intervention and support services and a subscription contract with NewVoice Learning (FlowSpeak) for Roseview Adult School.
In addition, the board ratified collective-bargaining agreements and unit ratifications for the 2026–27 school year, including agreements with the Amani Union Educators Association, Adult Education unit and CSEA chapter 11 (the CSEA approval included an amendment removing a sensitive media policy item still under negotiation). The board also approved multiple employment-agreement amendments for assistant superintendents and ratified an 11th amendment to the superintendent’s employment agreement. Trustees noted that many items were previously negotiated and described the consent approvals as routine but essential for staffing and program continuity.
