The El Monte Union High School District Board of Trustees administered the oath of office to Tessa Osegueta, who begins a second term as the district’s senior student trustee.
After repeating the oath, Osegueta told the board she is "grateful and excited" to return and said she will represent student needs across the district and mentor the incoming student trustee, Mia Arteaga. "I feel like I'm able to represent all students' needs across the district, not just my personal high school," she said.
Trustees offered congratulatory remarks, noting Osegueta’s leadership and encouraging her to use her position to elevate student concerns. The board president emphasized that the role is substantive and not merely ceremonial, and trustees urged the returning student trustee to engage with ASB leadership and student advisory groups.
