The Vernon County Board of Health unanimously approved a resolution to roll over $118,587 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds through December 2025. Health Officer Amy Kleiber introduced the resolution during the May 14 meeting, saying the funds support ongoing public-health work.
"Kleiber proposed a resolution for ARPA funding roll over $118,587 through December 2025," the minutes record. Martha Olson moved to accept the resolution and Lonnie Muller seconded; the board voted "all ayes." The vote was recorded as unanimous among the six members present.
Kleiber also told the board that approximately 60–70% of the department's budget comes from state and federal sources and highlighted uncertainty about legislative proposals that could affect those dollars. The board took no additional action beyond approving the rollover resolution. The next regular Board of Health meeting is scheduled for June 11, 2025.
