At its April 22, 2026 meeting in Superior, the Douglas County Board of Adjustment approved several routine items and one substantive land-use decision.
Mary Lou Bergman moved to approve the minutes of February 25, 2026; Scott Sorenson seconded and the motion carried. Later in the public-hearing portion, the board considered application #26-3 from Kevin and Lisa Johnson to allow an access driveway within 300 feet of an existing driveway on County Road U. The board approved that variance by motion of Sam Jones, seconded by Scott Sorenson, citing an "unnecessary hardship" due to the property's physical limitations. The roll-call vote for the variance was recorded as 4 Yes, 0 No, 2 Absent (Larry Kappes, Gary Saari).
With no future agenda items listed, Sorenson moved to adjourn, Bergman seconded, and the meeting ended at 10:21 a.m. Minutes were submitted by Committee Clerk Melissa Jarzomski.
