Committee approves tree pruning contract, Pleasant View culvert award and code updates

The committee approved several consent and action items during the meeting.

Tree pruning: The committee recommended a contract with M & M Tree Care to prune street and facility trees under the village’s nine‑year pruning cycle in an amount not to exceed $44,175; staff said the work will come from the general fund operating budget and the item was forwarded to the village board with a positive recommendation.

Well 2 generator: The water utility reported completion of a budgeted Well 2 generator replacement; the consulting engineer signed acceptance and staff said the project came in about $16,000 under budget by reusing the existing slab. The committee voted to accept the completed work.

Ordinance amendment: Staff presented an amendment to section 11.08 of the Germantown Municipal Code to align with updates to Wisconsin administrative code NR 544 (clarifications about outreach, multifamily recycling requirements and language changes). Staff said the changes do not alter single‑family collection practices; the committee forwarded the ordinance to the village board with a positive recommendation.

Pleasant View culvert and road reconstruction: The committee approved awarding a contract to CW Propero Inc. for Pleasant View culvert replacement and reconstruction from Lovers Lane south to Freistadt Road, including a prefabricated concrete structure and reconstruction of the final 0.25 mile, in a total amount not to exceed $1,099,936.48 (including a 10% contingency). Staff noted the bid came in well under the engineer’s estimate and that the project is part of a DOT ARIP program; the motion passed unanimously.

All items were taken by motion and approved by the committee; staff will forward recommendations to the village board where applicable.
