Transportation staff presented the Transfinder renewal, which covers tablets used for GPS navigation, a data plan and support. Austin (introduced earlier) explained the renewal is required to maintain the tablets and routing functions; staff implemented routing on all buses last year and will retrain drivers before school begins.
Micah described the next phase as the parent-portal feature, but staff said it will be piloted only after drivers consistently use the tablets and track attendance reliably. "My goal is to start that pilot program around October 1," Micah said. The board voted 5-0 to approve the renewal and encouraged staff to proceed with retraining and a measured pilot approach.
