District says high school HVAC finished; playgrounds, parking and turf nearing completion under bond projects

Whitney Henley, presenting bond project updates, told the board the high school HVAC work is finished and “it’s done” and operational. She reported that the high school and Barrington parking lots will be striped and available by Aug. 12, and that signage will follow. Henley said playground equipment is installed and “fully installed, functional, safe, ready for school to start,” with only some domes and railing hardware still pending.
Henley described sequencing and contingency plans: installers will schedule weekend work for dome installation, painting is subject to weather delays, and turf work is nearly complete (about 90% at Barrington and Tecumseh South). When board member questions focused on Chez and office relocation, Henley confirmed the Chez work includes the office relocation and secure entry and that work could begin this winter as planned.
The board did not take separate action on the update; the presentation framed upcoming approvals tied to the bond schedule. Staff said a facility committee meeting is being scheduled to precede a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) approval on Aug. 17.
