The Personnel Committee reviewed an updated job description creating a manager of administrative services, also described as clerk of the board, and agreed to forward it to the full board for consideration. Presenter said the position had existed historically and that the new description separates administrative duties from finance to address workload and skill-set differences. "We have added the position of manager of administrative services slash clerk of the board to this org chart," the Presenter said.
Committee members said the change responds to years of combined duties that, in their view, have not been performed well when merged. The committee discussed putting the job description and related org-chart changes on the board's consent calendar for the Aug. 26 meeting, while acknowledging any board member could pull items for separate discussion. Staff also noted the union will review the description before the item goes to the board.
