The village approved three license agreements with Wisconsin Central Railroad allowing underground pipelines, conduits and cables to cross railroad property at Sile Road, Route 52 and a location near the proposed Auburn Chase subdivision. Staff said the agreements are standardized, attorney Silverman's office reviewed the documents, and related construction contracts (for example, the pumping station work) are already underway with submittals being reviewed.
Board members asked how fees are set for such crossings and about excavation depths; staff said fees vary by location and the size of the utility, and explained typical depths (water ~5.5 feet, sanitary up to 10–12 feet or deeper depending on elevation). The motions for the license agreements were approved on roll call.
