Mecklenburg’s MTS introduces cashless payments; one-way fare $2.25

Suzette Nedridge, a spokesperson for the Mecklenburg County Public Information Department, said the Mecklenburg Transportation System (MTS) has launched a cashless payment option. "MTS can now use a cashless payment system," she said.
Nedridge said the one-way fare for trips that are not Medicaid-approved is $2.25 and that Medicaid trips are free to riders. She described MTS as the county's nonemergency medical and general transportation service for seniors and residents with disabilities and encouraged customers to check county channels for details on how to pay and enroll in Medicaid-covered rides.
