Council approves consent items: hires, donation, construction pay request and equipment purchase; schedules ribbon cutting and training
Summary
The consent agenda approved hiring three probationary firefighters, accepted a donation to the fire department, approved pay request #5 to Dressel Contracting and authorized purchase of a Caterpillar mini excavator. Staff also requested rescheduling a meeting for a Washington County North Environmental Center ribbon cutting and scheduled disaster training and holiday events.
Council approved five consent‑agenda items at the outset of the Dec. 2 meeting and later approved several administrative scheduling requests.
Brian Bridal summarized the consent agenda approved by the council: claims roster as presented; hiring of probationary firefighters Dalton Browner, Emily Piper and Christian Beeneck; acceptance of a donation from the Hugo American Legion to the Hugo Fire Department; approval of pay request #5 to Dressel Contracting for work on the 125th Street and Delwood Ridge project; and the purchase of a Caterpillar mini excavator.
On administrative presentations, staff requested the council reschedule a meeting to Monday, Dec. 16 at 10:00 a.m. for a ribbon cutting at the Washington County North Environmental Center and reminded the council about the tree‑lighting and Santa event Dec. 4, a volunteer holiday party Dec. 5, and emergency and disaster training offered by Washington County Emergency Management (training scheduled for Dec. 18). Each scheduling item was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
