Highway Foreman Mike Hastings told the Selectboard that the new highway truck is expected to be delivered in two weeks and recommended accepting a $15,500 trade-in offer for the town's old truck; the Board approved that trade-in (motion by Shauna Prime; second by Andrew Lee). Hastings also reported that the Property and Casualty Intermunicipal Fund (PACIF) safety grant has been approved; the fund is administered by the Vermont League of Cities & Towns.
Hastings added that road grading is nearly completed and that a new crew member will begin work on May 4. Chair Susan Culp and other board members clarified highway garage needs, including confirmation that the garage requires a new furnace; budget items related to highway equipment maintenance and utilities were discussed in the first-quarter report.
