Public Works facility nears completion; bond 67% paid, move-in planned late September

Mayor Rod Westbroek summarized an on-site construction update from Aug. 13: roughly 25 workers onsite per day, installation of garage doors, fire sprinklers, rough HVAC and plumbing, drywall and taping, finish work in the paint wash bay, and floor coating in the vehicle storage building. Material storage decant bay pads are prepped and ready for concrete pour. Upcoming activities include power panel inspection, finish plumbing and electrical, mezzanine stairs, and fence gates.
The anticipated move-in is scheduled for the last week of September, but City Manager David Larson said the city will not move into the facility until Rocky Mountain Power replaces a power pole across the street. On finances, the meeting record shows bond amount paid to date: $6,041,664.08 of $9,000,000 (67%). Councilman Winsor asked staff to review warranty periods before turnover.
