Board briefed on year-end encumbrance requests, Oracle support renewal and HIDTA grant

The board's Budget, Finance and Audit committee reported several recommended items Aug. 5, including a recommendation to renew Oracle PeopleSoft support and to accept the 2026 Midwest HIDTA grant to reimburse undercover vehicle rentals (no matching funds required).
Commissioner Sonia Jenkins Gray summarized the committee's encumbrance requests: "the department is requesting 1,700,000 be encumbered for the construction of the sound wall at the department range," and also listed requests of $2,000,000 for academy roof replacement and bathroom remodeling, $1,500,000 for the PeopleSoft financial system upgrade, $1,500,000 for command van replacement, and smaller vehicle requests. The committee will update the board on encumbrance request status at the next committee meeting.
