Board approves Huntington Park design contract, plans construction next year

Public Works Director Noriega presented the proposal for TRIA Architecture to perform phase 2 design and phase 3 construction services for the Huntington Park reconstruction project.
"Our FY 20 25, 20 26 budget includes $20,000 for phase 2 design work. Our future budget request will be approximately $306,000 for construction," Noriega said, and staff recommended approval of TRIA's professional services fee of $23,500. Trustees moved, seconded and approved the proposal on a roll-call vote.
Staff said the design work should be completed by fall with the goal of starting construction as soon as school breaks, and that project outreach may include work with the adjacent Trinity Christian School to involve students in design.
