County approves multiple park and greenway land purchases, easements

"Moved and seconded," the chair said while taking the votes. The record shows each motion was carried by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
The acquisitions included land purchased from private owners and two parcels listed as from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Board of Education (one for $869,000 and one for $5,686,700, the latter contingent on CMS approval). The board also authorized a permanent greenway easement from Forest Hills Apartments Limited Partnership for $59,861.24 and smaller easements tied to construction of the Briar Creek and Campbell Creek Greenways. Staff said these actions enable park and greenway expansions that county planners identify as priorities for connectivity and recreation.
