Elementary and Jr./Sr. High student councils report composting, Red Ribbon Week and upcoming food drive

At the Nov. 14 meeting, the Elementary Student Council reported unanimous votes to continue the cafeteria composting program and to purchase additional popcorn for the elementary's popcorn machine. The council led Red Ribbon Week activities and announced a food drive Nov. 18–22 with donations designated for the North Bergen Food Pantry. The elementary council also recorded scenarios about expected vs. unexpected behaviors for an upcoming assembly.
The Jr./Sr. High Student Council said members planned spirit weeks (including December), candy-gram fundraisers and games at lunch, and discussed purchasing picnic tables while refining cost and color choices. The minutes attribute the composting continuation to a unanimous student vote and note student outreach efforts during Red Ribbon Week.
