Kirkland board approves tires, tree removal and directs safety measures for Route 72 mowing

Trustees authorized tires for the Public Works 2022 Ford F350 not to exceed $1,230 (motion by Trustee Fruit) and approved removal of parkway trees at 409 S. 5th not to exceed $1,000 (motion by Trustee Chambers). The Board declined a request to host a townwide recycle dumpster on Village property.
Stark reported that the Village Insurance Inspector recommended 'mowing ahead' signs on both sides of Route 72 and a follow vehicle with lights when mowing on the state highway; the Board discussed alternatives for safely reaching Hickory Ridge. Stark also said he would seek additional quotes for annual fire extinguisher certification after the inspector noted the requirement.
