O'Brien County approves temporary closure of Yew Avenue for culvert repairs

The O'Brien County Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 2025-36 on Oct. 7, 2025, authorizing a temporary closure of Yew Avenue between 320th and 330th Street to allow road and culvert repairs. The board cited Section 306.41 of the Code of Iowa as the authority for the closure and directed that "ROAD CLOSED" signs be placed at both ends of the affected segment until construction is finished.
Chair Barbara Rohwer presided over the action. The addition of the road-closure item to the agenda was approved earlier in the meeting; the board carried the resolution by unanimous voice vote among members present. The closure affects the local road segment specifically described in the resolution and will remain in effect for the duration of the work as directed by county road authorities.
